Province sees its foreign trade value grew 4.3% YoY to US$5.06 billion in August this year, according to the latest statistics released by the Chengdu
The growth rate for last month was 0.4 percentage points higher than in July 2012.
Last month, Sichuan's export value increased 4.9% from a year earlier to US$3.11 billion, while its import value grew 3.3% YoY to a record high of US$1.95 billion.
In the first eight months of this year, the province’s foreign trade value totaled US$38.05 billion, reflecting a YoY increase of 31.2%, ranked tenth in the country.
The export value for the eight months period hit US$24.91 billion, 47.8% more than it realized in the corresponding period of 2011, while the import value rose 8.2% YoY to US$13.14 billion.
