China's gold output up 7.09% in Jan-Jul

Sep. 14, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw its gold output increased by 7.09% YoY to 208 metric tons in the first seven months of this year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

In the month of July, the country's gold output was 31.3 metric tons, and the industry's gross output value reached RMB 31.85 billion.
The gross output value of the gold industry grew 20.79% YoY to RMB 173.08 billion in the seven-month period.

In 2011, China's gold output increased 5.89% YoY to 360.96 metric tons, reflecting the highest level ever recorded, making the country maintain its position as the world's largest gold producer for the fifth consecutive year, China Knowledge reported earlier.
