Sep. 7, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Ford Motor Co, the second-largest car company in the U.S., announced yesterday that its auto sales in China rose 39% year on year to 48,631 units last month, driven by strong demand for its new Ford Focus model.
Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co, Ford Motor's passenger vehicle joint venture in China, sold 33,017 vehicles in August, 63% more than in the same month of last year.

In the first eight months of 2012, the U.S. automaker's China sales reached 368,513 units, 8% more than it realized in the same period of 2011, sources reported.
The U.S. auto firm plans to introduce 15 new models and to double its production capacity in the world's largest auto market by 2015.
