BMW sees China sales hit record 25,377 in Aug

Sep. 7, 2012 (China Knowledge) - BMW AG, the world's largest premium car maker, said yesterday that its sales of BMW and Mimi vehicles in mainland China rose 38% YoY to 25,377 units in August this year.

Last month, sales of BMW cars grew 36% YoY to 23,500 units, and sales of Mini brand vehicles jumped 62% YoY to 1,877 units.

In the first eight moths of this year, BMW saw its China sales amount to 207,425 units, up 31% from the same period of last year and reflecting the highest level ever recorded.

The auto maker has said that its sales in the U.S. fell 5.7% YoY to 22,553 units last month, taking its total sales in the market to 208,268 units in the first eight months, 7.6% more than in the corresponding period of 2011.
