Sep. 5, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Japanese auto giant Toyota Motor Corp saw its China sales decline 15.1% YoY to 75,300 units last month, said Takanori Yokoi, spokesperson of Toyota China in Beijing
The decline was larger than the 5% drop in July when the Japanese automaker sold 78,400 vehicles in China.
This is the third time Toyota has seen its China sales decrease this year. In January 2012, the Japanese automaker's China sales dropped 26.2% YoY due to week-long Lunar New Year holiday.
In the first eight months of this year, Toyota sold a total of 596,100 autos in China, reflecting a YoY increase of 13.4%.
The automaker aims to increase its China sales by 13% to 1 million units in 2012.
