China Yangtze Power's H1 profit up 5.97%

Sep. 3, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China Yangtze Power Co<600900>, the country's largest listed hydropower corporation and operator of the massive Three Gorges Dam in Southwest China, has said its net profit for the first half of this year increased 5.97% from a year earlier to RMB 2.85 billion.

Basic earnings per share were RMB 0.17 for the period, more than RMB 0.16 it realized in the same period of last year.

According to a statement filed with Shanghai Stock Exchange, operation revenue for the six-month period hit RMB 9.28 billion, reflecting a YoY increase of 11.29%.

In the first half of this year, the company's electricity output increased 7.94% YoY to 42.19 terawatt hours, including 34.8 TWhs generated by the Three Gorges Dam, up 9.03% YoY, China Knowledge reported earlier.
