>, one of the leading automobile makers in China, yesterday reported a net profit of RMB 5.37 billion for the first half of this year, 8.36% less than in the same period of 2011, due to a decline in the sales of commercial vehicles.
The company's revenue reached RMB 68.06 billion in the first six months, up 6.8% from RMB 63.71 billion in H1 of 2011.
Dongfeng Motor sold a total of 1.18 million vehicles in the six-month period, reflecting a growth of 10.5% YoY.
Sales of passenger cars jumped 21.6% YoY to 939,532 units in the period, while sales of commercial vehicles fell 19% to 236,753 units.
No interim dividend was proposed.
