>, the largest copper producer in China in terms of output, said yesterday that its net profit fell 39.08% YoY to RMB 2.58 billion in the first half of this year, due to declines in prices of major products.
Basic earnings per share were RMB 0.74 in the period.
The company's operating revenue rose 13.06% YoY to RMB 67.07 billion in the first six months.
The company's output of cathode copper rose 3.13% YoY to 500,200 metric tons in the six-month period, and that of gold fell 0.34% to 12,796 kilograms. The firm produced 3.01 million metric tons of silver and 1.26 million metric tons of sulfuric acid in the period.
Jiangxi Copper expected that it is unlikely to see sharp recovery in the prices of its major prices in the second half.
