Aug. 23, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw its output of natural gas increase 1.4% YoY to 8.4 billion cubic meters in July this year, said the National Development and Reform Commission
in a statement published on its website.
In the first seven months, the country produced 62.3 billion cu m of natural gas, 5.9% more than in the same period of last year.
In July, China's natural gas imports surged 28.2% YoY to 3.5 billion cu m, taking its total import in the first seven months to 23.3 billion cu m, 38.6% more than in the corresponding period of last year and accounting for 28.14% of the country's total consumption.
The apparent consumption of natural gas amounted to 82.8 billion cu m from January to July, up 12.8% YoY. It rose 10.5% YoY to 11.4 cu m in July.
