>, a China-based company primarily engaged in the distilling and sales of liquors, has said yesterday that its net profit jumped 43.68% year on year to RMB 414 million in the first half of this year, driven by significant increase in liquor sales.
Basic earnings per share were RMB 0.82 in the period, according to the firm's interim report.
The company's operating revenue was RMB 2.23 billion in the first six months, up 41% from the corresponding period of last year. Revenue from liquor business rose 42.09% YoY to RMB 2.15 billion in the period.
The high-end liquor sector generated revenue of RMB 1.25 billion in H1, with gross profit margin at 81.88%, and the mid-range liquor sector reaped RMB 849 million of revenue and recorded a gross profit margin of 67.43%.
