Aug. 20, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China’s total logistics expense grew 11.8% YoY to RMB 4.8 trillion in the first seven months of this year, according to figures from the National Development and Reform Commission
The growth rate was 0.1 percentage points lower than that in the first half and 6.6 percentage points lower than that in the same period of 2011.
Of the total expense, RMB 2.5 trillion was transportation cost, up 10.9% YoY, RMB 1.7 trillion was storage cost, up 12.5% YoY, and RMB 600 billion was management cost, 13.2% more than that in the same period of last year.
The value of goods transported by logistics industry grew 9.8% YoY to RMB 98.3 trillion in the first seven months. The growth rate was 3.8 percentage points lower than that in the corresponding period of 2011 and 0.2 percentage points lower than in H1. The value included RMB 89.7 trillion of industrial products and RMB 6.6 trillion of imported goods, 10.3% and 4.6% more than that in the same period of last year, respectively.
The logistics industry saw its value-added output rise 10.3% YoY to RMB 1.9 trillion in the 7-month period.
The country's fixed-asset investment in the logistics industry amounted to RMB 1.9 trillion in the first seven months, up 15.2% YoY. The growth rate was 2.5 percentage points higher than that in the same period of last year.
