>, the country's largest mobile telecom operator, has announced yesterday that its net profit rose 1.5% YoY to RMB 62.2 billion in the first half of this year.
Basic earnings per share were RMB 3.1 during the period, up 1.4% YoY. The company proposed an interim dividend of HK$1.63 per share.
The mobile carrier's EBITDA fell 0.9% to RMB 123.1 billion in H1.
Operating revenue reached RMB 266.5 billion in the first six months, 6.6% more than in the same period of last year. Revenue from data business grew 17.3% YoY to RMB 76 billion, with the proportion in operating revenue rising to 28.5%.
China Mobile added 33.51 million users in H1, taking the number of its subscribers to 683 million at the end of June. The net addition of 3G users was 15.87 million in the period, bringing the firm's total 3G users to more than 67 million at the end of H1.
China Mobile's capital expenditure reached RMB 58.8 billion in the period, accounting for 22.1% of its total operating revenue.
