China's gold output up 7.65% in H1

Aug. 8, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw its gold output increased by 7.65% YoY to 177 metric tons in the first half of this year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

In the month of June, the country's gold output was 36.3 metric tons, and the industry's gross output value reached RMB 30.58 billion.

In the first six months of this year, gold mines in the country produced 146.3 metric tons of gold, 5.94% more than in the same period of last year, while colored-by-product gold from nonferrous smelters increased by 12.15% YoY to 25.1 metric tons.

The gross output value of the gold industry grew 18.15% YoY to RMB 141.23 billion in the six-month period.
