Aug. 6, 2012 (China Knowledge) - HTC Corp, a global leading smartphone maker based in Taiwan
, China, announced that it expects its revenue to decrease between 41% and 48% YoY for the third quarter of this year.
The revenue will be in the region of NT$70 billion to NT$80 billion or US$2.33 billion to US$2.67 billion, less than NT$135.8 billion it realized in the same period of 2011.
The smartphone maker said the decline is mainly due to fierce market competition and increasing sale pressure in the U.S. and the E.U. market.
In earlier this month, the company reported that its operation revenue for the second quarter of this year to reach NT$91 billion, about 27% lower than it realized in the corresponding period of 2011, while its net profit for the period hit NT$7.4 billion or US$247 million.
