Jul. 30, 2012 (China Knowledge) - The total assets of financial institutions in the China’s banking industry were RMB 124.56 trillion at the end of June, up 19.6% YoY, according to a statement released the China Banking Regulatory Commission
Large-scale commercial banks saw assets increased 13.6% YoY to RMB 57.07 trillion as of the end of June, while joint-stock commercial banks saw assets surge 27.3% to RMB 21.11 trillion.
The assets of city-level commercial lenders were RMB 11.51 trillion at the end of June, 31.5% more than a year earlier, and the assets of other banking financial institutions had grown 22% YoY to RMB 34.87 trillion at the end of June.
The combined liabilities of the banking industry had increased 19.3% YoY to RMB 116.64 trillion at the end of last month. Liabilities of large commercial banks had risen 13.2% YoY to RMB 53.45 trillion.
