Nanchang's GDP up 12% in H1

Jul. 27, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Nanchang, the provincial capital of Jiangxi Province, saw its gross domestic product grew 12% YoY to RMB 129.67 billion in the first half of 2012 which accounted for 24% of Jiangxi's total.

Value-added industry output from enterprises with designated size or above of the city rose 15.8% YoY to RMB 43.48 billion. The growth rate was 1.9 percentage points higher than in the corresponding period of 2011.

From January to June 2012, Nanchang's fixed-asset investment jumped 30% YoY to RMB 103.03 billion, while its retail sales of consumer goods grew 19.8% YoY to RMB 54.14 billion.

Nanchang's foreign trade value increased 26.1% YoY to US$4.44 billion during the six-month period, including US$ 3.7 billion from export value, up 45.4% from a year earlier.

In the first half of this year, utilized FDI of the city hit US$1.33 billion, reflecting a YoY increase of 15.6%.
