Huawei sees 22% drop in H1 profit

Jul. 25, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, China's No. 1 telecom equipment maker, announced that its operation profit for the first half of 2012 decreased 22% YoY to RMB 8.79 billion, sources reported.

The Chinese telecom equipment maker said the decrease of operating profit was due to the weak global economic and slowing demands for new equipment.

In the first half of 2012, Huawei's operation revenue increased 5.1% from a year earlier to RMB 102.7 billion.

In 2012, the company aims to realize 15% growth in operation revenue, and the profitability will stay consistent with last year.

Huawei is focusing on the establishment of distribution channels, as present, it has over 2,000 channel partners worldwide including over 200 distributors and value-added resellers.
