Beijing's GDP up 7.2% in H1

Jul. 24, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Beijing's gross domestic product grew 7.2% YoY to RMB 834.86 in the first half of this year, according to latest statistics released by the Beijing Statistics Bureau.

The GDP included RMB 5.92 billion generated by the primary sector, 9.8% more than in the same period of 2011.

RMB 176.63 billion and RMB 652.31 billion were generated in the secondary sector and the tertiary sector in the first half, 6.1% and 7.5% more than in H1 of 2011, respectively.

Value-added output in the industrial sector rose 5.8% YoY to RMB 148.47 billion in the period, and that in the construction industry increased 7.6% to RMB 28.16 billion.

The city's wholesales and retail industry saw its value-added output rise 6.6% YoY to RMB 119.29 billion, and its financial sector generated RMB 126.53 billion in value-added output, 12.7% more than in the same period of last year.
