's tobacco industry recorded a profit of RMB 152.04 billion in the first half of this year, 18.66% more than in the same period of last year, according to the latest statistics from China
's tobacco bureau.
The bureau said that taxes contributed the tobacco sector rose 17.18% YoY to RMB 32.87 billion in the first six months.
The country's output of cigarettes climbed 1.9% YoY to 25.99 million boxes, and its sales of cigarettes grew 2.81% to 26.30 million boxes.
The industry's foreign trade value rose 9.03% YoY to US$1.77 billion in the period. The export value increased 9.2% YoY to US$527 million.
