's unemployment rate increased 0.09 percentage points in June to 4.21% from the 4.12% recorded in May, according to statistics released by the island's Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics.
The increase in unemployment rate was a result of the stream of new university graduates entering the job market.
The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 4.24% last month, down 0.01 percentage points from 4.25% in June.
The number of unemployed people increased by 11,000 from a month earlier to 477,000 in June, and that of employed people was 10.85 million last month.
In the first six months of this year, the island's unemployment rate was 4.17% on average, and the average number of unemployed people was 471,000.
