Jul. 20, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co Ltd, a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Corp and Honda Motor Co, will recall 76,415 units of CR-V in China from Aug 3, due to defects in their door lock, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in a statement yesterday.
The quality watchdog said the to-be-recalled vehicles were produced between Jan. 17, 2012 and Jun. 19, 2012.
The automaker said that the lock in cab door of these cars might be unlocked in extreme situations, which exists potential security risk, adding that all affected vehicles will be fixed free.
In the first half of this year, Dongfeng Honda's auto sales amounted to 150,689 units, reflecting a YoY increase of 28.8%, including 88,800 units of CR-V autos, sources reported.
