Jul. 19, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China's postal and express delivery industry saw its revenue surge 24.4% YoY to RMB 97.34 billion in the first half of this year, said the State Post Bureau
The industry's business volume rose 21.2% YoY to RMB 93.39 billion in the period.
Express delivery enterprises of the designated size and above in China reaped a combined revenue of RMB 46.82 billion in the first half of this year, 39.7% more than in the same period of last year.
The express delivery sector's business volume surged 51% YoY to 2.39 billion in the period.
The statistics showed that revenue from intra-city express services soared 51.6% YoY to RMB 4.52 billion in H1, and revenue from cross-region express services surged 44.9% YoY to RMB 28.11 billion. Express delivery enterprises reaped RMB 9.92 billion in revenue from international express services.
Express delivery revenue in East China, Central China and West China accounted for 81.8%, 9.6% and 8.6% of total, respectively.
