Jul. 18, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China, the world's largest copper consumer, produced 518,000 metric tons of copper last month, 11.6% more than in the same month of last year, said the National Bureau of Statistics
In the first half of this year, the country's copper output amounted to 2.92 million metric tons, up 10.3% YoY.
China's imports of unwrought copper and copper products totaled 2.5 million metric tons in the first six months, up 47% from the same period of last year, according to an earlier report
from China Knowledge.
In 2011, the country's output of refined copper rose 14.2% from the previous year to 5.18 million metric tons.
