Jul. 17, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Japan-based automaker
Subaru will recall 7,412 vehicles in China from July 27, due to faulty engine pump, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine
in a statement published on its website yesterday.
In a statement, AQSIQ
said the to-be-recalled cars consist of Impreza models which were manufactured from May 23, 2008 to Oct 8, 2008, Forester models which were manufactured from May 22, 2008 to Nov 13, 2008 and Legacy models which were manufactured from June 4, 2008 to Oct 18, 2008.
The faulty engine pump in these vehicles may cause the engine to shut down and can't be restarted, said the Japanese automaker, adding that all affected vehicles will be fixed for free.
In 2004, Subaru entered into Chinese market and by April 2012, its auto sales in the country exceeded 200,000 units including over 120,000 units of Forester models, source reported.
