>, the country's largest air carrier by fleet size, announced that its passenger throughput increased 6.7% YoY to 6.78 million in June 2012.
Last month, the air carrier's cargo and mail throughput rose 15.9% from a year earlier to 98,500 metric tons.
In the first half of this year, China Southern Airlines' passenger volume amounted to 41.21 million, 7.2% more than it realized in the same period of 2011, while the cargo and mail throughput for the six-month period grew 7.5% YoY to 577,100 metric tons.
The company said that its passenger load factor for the first half of 2012 reached 79.5%, 1.1 percentage points lower than in the corresponding period of 2011. Meanwhile, the air carrier's overall load factor declined 0.5 percentage points to 68.8%.
Last week, China Southern Airlines expected its net profit to plunge more than 50% in the first half of this year, China Knowledge reported earlier
