Jul. 12, 2012 (China Knowledge) – China, the world's largest auto market, saw its auto sales up 9.86% YoY to 1.58 million units last month, according to the latest statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
According to the statistic, the sales of passenger vehicles hit 1.28 million units last month, increased 15.8% from a year earlier. However, the sales of commercial vehicles decreased 10.22% YoY to 293,330 units.
From January to June 2012, China's auto sales amounted to 9.6 million units, which consists of 7.61 million units of passenger vehicles and 1.98 million units of commercial vehicles, up 7.08% and down 10.4% respectively from a year earlier.
During the six-month period, the country produced a total of 9.53 million vehicles including 7.6 million units of passenger vehicles, 7.87% more than it realized in the corresponding period of 2011.
