>, a major Chinese television and mobile phone manufacturer, sold 6.62 million LCD TVs in the first half of this year, 60.61% more than in the same period of last year, according to a statement filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Of the total sales, 4.37 million units were LED backlight LCD TVs, up 214.94% YoY. The sales of smart TVs and 3D TVs were 1.3 million units and 592,000 units, rising 234.71% and 1,377% YoY, respectively.
The company's sales of CRT TVs fell 43.4% YoY to 1.27 million units in the period.
TCL said that its cell phone sales fell 4.3% YoY to 18.61 million units in the first six months, of which sales of smart phones skyrocketed 12.16 times to 2.2 million units.
The group's sales of air-conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines reached 2.29 million units, 559,000 units and 405,000 units in the period, up 17.82%, 31.44% and 42.98% YoY, respectively.
