Jul. 5, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Toyota Motor Corp, along its two joint ventures in China
, sold 70,500 vehicles in the country last month, reflecting a YoY increase of 18.6%, said Spokesperson Takanori Yokoi.
The growth rate last month showed a slowdown from May when Toyota and its Chinese JVs doubled sales.
In the first six months of this year, Toyota saw its China
sales amount to 442,500 units, up 24.9% from the same period of last year.
Hitoshi Yokoyama, another Toyota spokesman, said that the Japanese automaker is on pace to achieve its sales target of 1 million units for this year.
The company's auto sales in China
rose only 4.4% from 2010 to 883,400 units last year, China Knowledge reported earlier.
