Ningbo Port's cargo throughput up 18.1% in Jun

Jul. 3, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Ningbo Port Co<601018>, the operator of the country's second-biggest port by throughput, has said that its cargo throughput rose 18.1% YoY to 35.83 million metric tons in June this year.

The company said in a statement that its container throughput grew 12.0% YoY to 1.43 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU).

In the first half of this year, company saw its cargo throughput increase 18.8% YoY to 219.58 million metric tons and its container throughput grow 13.0% to 8.3 million TEUs.

Official statistics showed that China's cargo throughput at ports of designated size and above in China reached 3.94 billion metric tons in the first five months of this year, 7.4% more than in the same period of last year.
