Beijing E-Town's e-commerce to hit RMB 200 bln output by 2015

Jun. 18, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Beijing E-Town, a triple-A rated industrial park, aims to integrate and speed up its development of e-commerce industry to form an industrial cluster with output value of RMB 200 billion by 2015.

Beijing E-Town, among 34 other industry parks, was approved as the first group of National E-commerce Areas that demonstrate their initial-success working model, at the 2012 China Electronic Commerce Conference held in Beijing last month. The designated e-commerce area will be powered by innovation and aims to promote industrial integration, accelerate industry upgrading and drive the development of foreign trade, said Zhang Boxu, director of Beijing E-Town's administrative committee.

The development of e-commerce industry will integrate the existing mobile communication, logistics and cloud computing industries in the area, Zhang added.

By 2015, Beijing E-Town, according to its goals, expects the e-commerce's transaction volume to grow 5 to 10 times, RMB 100 billion in B2C's transaction, producing 5 most influential national e-commerce enterprises, forming RMB 50 billion business volume for its cloud computing industry, and to create RMB 200 billion output value for the industry.
