Jun. 6, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Audi AG, a German subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, said yesterday that it sold 160,562 vehicles in China
in the first five months of this year, reflecting a YoY increase of 42%.
The growth rate was higher than the 34% increase in sales in BMW vehicles and 8.7% increase in sales of Mercedes-Benz cars in China
Last month, the automaker saw its China
sales, including sales in Hong Kong
, reached 36,278 units, up 44% from the same month of last year.
In 2011, Audi sold 309,888 vehicles, consisting of 252,000 locally-made cars and 57,888 imported vehicles, in mainland China, according to an earlier report
from China Knowledge.
