>, has announced that its auto sales for May of this year hit 110,503 units, sources reported.
Sales of Buick vehicles were 51,360 units last month, and sales of Chevrolet vehicles surged 35.7% YoY to 56,938 units. The company delivered 2,205 Cadillac vehicles in May.
In the first five months of this year, Shanghai
GM's auto sales amounted to a record 555,280 units, including 12,109 Cadillac vehicles, 6.6% more than in the same period of 2011.
SAIC Motor said last month that its board of directors had approved the sale of a 1% stake in Shanghai
GM back to GM for US$91.4 million in cash. The deal is still subject to approval from Chinese regulators, according to an earlier report
from China Knowledge.
