Hainan's tourism revenue up 14.3% in Apr

Jun. 4, 2012 (China Knowledge) - South China's Hainan Province saw its tourism revenue rise 14.3% YoY to RMB 2.53 billion in April this year, according to figures released by the Hainan Statistics Bureau.

The province's hotel occupancy rate was 57.39% in the month, down 7.47 percentage points from March.

Hainan received 2.57 million visitors in April, reflecting a growth of 7.8% YoY. The number of inbound visitors climbed 2.9% YoY to 85,200 in the month, and the number of domestic visitors rose 8.0% to 2.49 million.

In the first four months of this year, the province's tourism revenue totaled RMB 13.78 billion, up 20.7% YoY, and its hotel occupancy rate stood at 63.67% in the period.

Hainan's visitor arrivals amounted to 11.13 million from January to April, up 9.6% from the same period of last year.
