saw the market size of mobile internet reach RMB 30.6 billion in the Q1 2012, reflecting QoQ increase of 21%, according to statistics released by a Chinese internet research company.
In Q1 2011, the country's mobile internet market size was RMB 19 billion, increased 6.6% to RMB 20.3 billion in Q2 2011, grew 7.5% to RMB 21.8 billion in Q3 2011 and up 16.2% to RMB 25.2 billion in Q4 2011 on a QoQ basis.
Of the total turnover, 34.3% derived from online shopping for Q1 2012, while 31.5% from mobile application and service, 30.7% from traffic charges, and 3.5% from wireless advertisement.
Transaction value in the online shopping segment reached around RMB 10.5 billion in Q1 2012, compared with RMB 10.81 billion China's mobile internet market realized for the whole year of 2011.
As of Mar. 31, 2012, the nation had 450 million internet users.
