May. 22, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw its sales of lotteries increased 29.0% YoY to RMB 83.83 billion in the first four months of this year, RMB 18.86 billion more than it realized in the same period of 2011, according to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Finance
From January to April, the sales of welfare lotteries grew 28.9% YoY to RMB 48.65 billion, and the sales of sports lotteries reached RMB 35.18 billion, reflecting a Y-o-Y increase of 29.2%.
China saw its sales of numbers games, guessing lotteries, instant games and video type lotteries reached RMB 55.33 billion, RMB 8.61 billion, RMB 13.37 billion and RMB 6.51 billion in the four-month period, with growth rate of 39.4%, 19.9%,2.8% and 28.3% YoY, respectively.
Jiangsu province ranked first in the lottery market with total sales of RMB 10.27 billion, up 55.7% YoY, followed by Guangdong
province with sales of RMB 8.69 billion and Shandong
province with sales of RMB 7.38 billion.
