May. 15, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Renault SA, French based automaker, announced yesterday that it isrecalling 1,272imported Scenic second-generation vehicles in China on May 15, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ)
In a statement, AQSIQ
said the to-be-recalled autos were manufactured from March 2004 to September 2005.
The automaker said that the faultyelectron componentmight cause the instrument panel to stop working, adding that all affected Scenic models will be fixed free.
Last year, Renault SA saw its auto sales in China totaled24,275 vehicles, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 65%, which leads the French automaker to become the country's fastest growing non-luxury auto brand.
In April 2012, the automaker inked an agreement with China's Dongfeng Automobile Co Ltd<600006
> to build its first China's plant in Wuhan
province, China Knowledge reported earlier.
