>, one of the top three TV manufacturers in China, sold 659,000 TVs in the domestic market last month, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 20% from 548,000 units, according to a statement filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange
In April, the company saw flat-panel TV sales in China increase by 21% year on year from 546,100 units to 658,700 units, of which 551,100 units were LED TVs, jumping 160% year on year from 212,000 units. Sales of 3D TVs reached 211,400 units, compared with only 15,900 units the firm sold in April 2011.
In overseas markets, Skyworth Digital sold 121,000 TVs last month, reflecting a decline of 40% from a year earlier. Of the total, flat-panel TV sales surged 51% year on year from 60,800 units to 92,000 units, including 65,300 LED TVs, up 32% year on year from 49,400 units.
Sales revenue in the firm's domestic market grew 17% from a year earlier last month, while the year-on-year growth stood at 23% in the international market.
