May. 9, 2012 (China Knowledge) – Ford Motor Co, the second-largest car company in the U.S., announced yesterday that it sold 54,881 vehicles in China last month, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 24%.
The increase is mainly due to the increase in sales of its new Ford Focus model, said the automaker.
Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co, Ford Motor's passenger vehicle joint venture in China, sold 34,108 vehicles in April, up 30% than in the same month of last year.

>, Ford Motor's commercial vehicle JV, saw its auto sales grew 16% year on year to 20,773 vehicles last month.
In the first four month of this year, Ford Motor saw its China sales fell 5% year on year to 176,274 vehicles.
The company said that it plans to set up two new plants in Chongqing
, and aims to have an annual output capacity of 1.2 million vehicles by 2015, sources reported.
