May. 8, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Audi AG, a German subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, said yesterday that it sold 124,284 vehicles in China
in the first four months of this year, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 41%.
Last month, the automaker saw its China
sales reached 34,221 vehicles, up 44% from the same month of last year.
Peter Schwarzenbauer, Audi's head of marketing and sales, expected that the company's China
sales would double over the next five years. By 2015, China
will overtake the U.S. as the largest single market for Audi, he added.
In 2011, Audi sold 309,888 vehicles, consisting of 252,000 locally-made cars and 57,888 imported vehicles, in mainland China
