May. 2, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Uni-President Enterprises Corp, the Taiwan-based
food and beverage production giant, announced its net profit jumped 33% year on year to NT$3.03 billion in the first quarter of this year, boosted by an increase in investment income.
The company said in a statement that realized NT$11.21 billion in revenue in the three months ended Mar. 31, 8.9% less than the NT$12.31 billion recorded in the same period of 2011.
The food conglomerate earlier reported a net profit of NT$9.45 billion for 2011, reflecting a decline of 13.5% year on year, due to rising costs amid price increase for raw materials.
The company's sales grew 5.86% year on year to NT$51.83 billion in 2011.
