saw its sales of new automobiles surge 82% year on year or 23.7% month on month to 46,400 units in March this year, sources reported.
In the first quarter of this year, the city's sales of new autos totaled 136,300 units, up 122.4% from the same period of last year.
The sales of imported cars grew 56.4% year on year to 13,000 units in the first three months.Beijing
's sales of second-hand vehicles jumped 16.9% month on month or 192.9% year on year to 53,900 units in March, taking the total sales of second-hand vehicles in the first three months to 147,300 units, 364% more than in the same period of last year.
The country's auto sales totaled 4.79 million units in the first quarter, down 3.40% from the same period of last year, according to an earlier report
