Apr. 16, 2012 (China Knowledge) – Renault SA, French based automaker, has inked a framework agreement with China's Dongfeng Automobile Co Ltd<600006
> to build its first China's plant in Wuhan
province, source reported.
According to the agreement, the France automaker will produce a model of electric car and a model of SUV car in the plant, said a person familiar with the matter, but did not give any further details.
Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Renault SA, said on February that Renault would build electric vehicles and sell its top models in China.
At present, the France automaker has more than 80 sales outlets in China, and last year its auto sales reached around 25,000 units in the country, nearly 79% more than it sold in 2010. Renault aims to sell 40,000 to 50,000 imported vehicles in China this year, China Knowledge reported earlier
