>, the country's largest coal producer, produced 27.6 million tons of commercial coal last month, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 12.2%.
In a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange
, the company said its commercial coal sales for March increased 20.6% year on year from 34.9 million tons to 42.1 million tons.
In the first quarter of 2012, the company's commercial coal output totaled 79.1 million tons, up 12.4% year on year from 70.4 million tons. Total sales increased by 16% from a yea earlier to 108.3 million tons.
The Chinese coal giant generated 17,500 gigawatt hours and sold 16,320 GWh of electricity last month, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 17.7% and 16.9%, respectively.
For the three months ended Mar. 31, 2012, the company's electricity output soared 19.8% from a year earlier to 47,040 GWh, while its electricity sales totaled 43,850 GWh, up 19.6% year on year.
