Apr. 12, 2012 (China Knowledge) – OK Air, China's first privately owned carrier said yesterday that it plans to build largest regional airline company in China, source reported.
Liu Jieyin, founder of OK Air, said that the new regional airline would acquire10 aircrafts every year and targets to have a total of 100 aircrafts within 10 to 15 years.
However, China has lot of restraint policy in aviation industry, OK Air needs to break through many obstacles, Liu added.
China's regional airline is just beginning to develop and now there is only two small scale regional airlines in mainland China, Joy Air and China Express, both have no more than 7 aircrafts, said analyst.
At present, OK Air operates several regional routes in Northeast China's Heilongjiang
Province and Bohai coastal region. Last year, the company realized its first annual profit since it established in 2005.
