Audi's China sales up 40.5% in Q1

Apr. 11, 2012 (China Knowledge) – Audi AG, a German subsidiary of Volkswagen AG announced yesterday that it sold 90,063 vehicles in China in the first quarter of this year, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 0.5%.

Last month, the automaker saw its China sales reached 31,505 vehicles, up 37% or 8,505 units more than it sold in February.

The sales of Audi A4 model reached 24,536 vehicles in the first three months of this year, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 68% while the sale of Audi Q5 model jumped 93% year on year to 20,870 vehicles.

During the period from January to March, China contributed 40% of the world market share of Audi's A8 model sales.

The German automaker said China including Hong Kong has been its largest single market.
