iSoftStone, IBM to build cloud-computing center in Jilin

Apr. 10, 2012 (China Knowledge) - iSoftStone Holdings Ltd<ISS>, a leading China-based IT service provider, IBM, Jilin University and Datang Telecom Technology Co Ltd<600198>, have signed an agreement with the local city government to build a cloud-computing center in Liaoyuan, Jilin Province.

The new facility, named Cloud Computing Center of Excellence or CCoE, is the third project that iSoftStone and IBM have jointly established, with the first two being in Wuxi of Jiangsu Province and Foshan of Guangdong Province.

The center is expected to provide cloud-computing services to clients in Northeast China and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

No more details, including the investment of the center, have yet been disclosed.

Last year, New York-listed iSoftStone earned US$19 million in net profit but it suffered a net loss of US$3.6 million in 2010. Non-GAAP net profit soared 75.1% from a year earlier to US$34.3 million in 2011.

The company's operating revenue surged 43.9% year on year to US$ 283 million in 2011.
