Mar. 29, 2012 (China Knowledge) - The home appliance industry in China saw its gross output grow 22.4% year on year to RMB 1.14 trillion last year, according to a statement released by the National Development and Reform Commission
The output value of household air-conditioners increased 28.3% year on year to RMB 409.8 billion, followed by RMB 258.7 billion in the output value of refrigeration appliances and RMB 168.1 billion in the output of kitchen appliance.
The sales value of the industry jumped 21.8% year on year to RMB 1.08 trillion in the year.
The output of refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners and washing machines was 86.99 million, 18.73 million, 139.13 million and 66.71 million units in 2011, up 20.3%, 12.4%, 24.6% and 11.5% year on year, respectively.
As for small appliances, the output of electric rice cookers, dust collectors and electric fans reached 183.29 million, 83.17 million and 174.30 million units, up 8.0%, 3.8% and 10.8% year on year, respectively.
The home appliance industry's export value rose 18% year on year to US$47.23 billion in 2011, slowing from a 30% growth in 2010.
