>, the nation's largest fixed-line operator, said today that its net profit in 2011 rose 10.5% year on year to RMB 16.40 billion after deducting the installation fees.
Basic earnings per share were RMB 0.2 last year, and the company proposed a final dividend of 8.5 HK cents, the same as for 2010.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) climbed 6.5% year on year to RMB 94.27 billion in the period.
Total revenue increased 11.7% year on year to RMB 244.94 billion in 2011.
Revenue from mobile services jumped 43% year on year to RMB 68.25 billion, and that from mobile data services surged 57.4% to RMB 29.62 billion. The wired broadband business saw revenue grow 12.3% to RMB 60.80 billion, and the fixed-line voice business saw revenue hit RMB 49.76 billion.
At the end of last year, the telecom carrier had 126 million phone users in total, 39.7% or 35.95 million more than a year earlier. The company had a 13.0% share in the mobile telecom market and a 28.5% share in the 3G market in terms of the number of subscribers.
