On a same plant basis, total electricity sales for February 2012 increased by 19.6% year on year. Power plants in Jiangsu
Province and other service provinces recorded year-on-year growth of 29.7%, 21.5%, 16.6%, 10.0% and 9.2%, respectively. However, power plants in Liaoning
Province saw an 8.0% decrease year on year.
In a separate statement, the Hong Kong-listed
company said that its coal output jumped 23% year on year to 1.35 million metric tons in February, taking its coal production for the first two months to a total of 2.35 million metric tons, 8.6% more than in the corresponding period of last year.
In 2011, the company's electricity sales rose 15.8% year on year to 112.08 TWhs, and its coal output surged 43.3% to 16.37 million metric tons.
