's sales of passenger cars, including minibuses, amounted to 1.09 million units in February this year, up 22.3% year on year, according to statistics released by the National Passenger Car Market Information Joint Committee.
The sales of passenger cars last month reflected a month-on-month decline of 6.7%.
Last month, the sales of MPVs experienced the biggest increase of 39.6% year on year, reaching 43,900 units, and the sales of sedans increased 26.6% year on year to 729,700 units. The sales of SUVs jumped 31% year on year to 124,900 units.
The country' passenger car output in February 2012 rose 29% year on year or 17.2% month on month to 1.24 million units.
In the first two months of this year, China
's sales of passenger cars fell 1.4% year on year to 2.26 million units.
Rao Da, secretary-general of the National Passenger Car Market Information Joint Committee, expected that the Chinese passenger car market will continue to see positive growth this month.
